Riskalyze just keeps growing bigger.

The Auburn-based financial tech firm has grown too big for its office building at 373 Elm Ave. and is now expanding into a second.

The second building is also located within Auburn city limits – this time in the office complex at 470 Nevada St., adjacent to the Regal Auburn Stadium 10 movie complex.

In addition to the Auburn expansion into an additional 13,000 square feet of space, the business is also expanding its Atlanta, Ga. base. The existing facility in Atlanta will relocate to the midtown Bank of America Plaza building, an iconic feature on the Atlanta skyline, tripling the company’s footprint in the city to 16,000 square feet. The newbuilding will allow an eventual capacity of 120 employees from the current 50.

The Auburn expansion comes at a time when Riskalyze continues to grow the number of employees. It will allow thefirm to expand to 165 employees between both offices. “ We’re proud to be investing $15 million in Auburn and $10 million in Atlanta in 2018, delivering an outsized economic impact in the communities we live and work,”  said Aaron Klein, CEO of Riskalyze.

Riskalyze invented the trademarked Risk Number, which powers a risk-alignment platform for financial advisors and investors to quantify how much risk a portfolio wants to take on. Expanding on Riskalyze, the company has also brought out Autopilot, focusing on risk in retirement plans and asset management, and Compliance Cloud, for navigating changing investment-related rules and regulations.

“Our commitment to innovation that empowers fearless investing has driven us to bring some of the brightest minds to Auburn and Atlanta and we look forward to continuing to recruit the best to join our team,” Klein said.

The 470 Nevada St. building will house the company’s sales, finance and administrative teams, while the 373 Elm Avenue building will provide room for growth on the company’s product, engineering, customer success, marketing and people ops teams.

Riskalyze started at the High Street Bank of America building in Downtown Auburn with two engineers, an intern and Klein. Since those humble beginnings in mid-2011, the business passed the 100 threshold level in employees in 2016 and continues to grow with its latest expansions.
